Staying Mentally Fit In Quarantine by Rubina Ratnakar

Quarantine is a condition when you are isolated from the external world for a specific period of time. In such a time, taking care of yourself mentally is very important. Rubina Ratnakar helps you in staying mentally fit in quarantine.

Quarantine is mostly imposed when the external conditions are not for you. So, to keep up with the mental health you should try to keep calm and avoid any panic. Try to follow your daily routine. We all know that we can’t completely follow our daily routine but we can at least try to follow that as much as possible. Avoid sleeping all day; try to wake up at your usual time. This will create a positive essence in your daily life.

Take care of yourself in every way that is possible. Exercise regularly, groom yourself, take soothing showers, listen to your favorite music and spend time with your loved ones to keep yourself mentally healthy and calm.

Keep yourself busy with activities you love and the ones that seem productive to you. You can even start learning something new from the internet. Check out various new things to learn when you are isolated at home.

Stay socially connected with your friends and family members. Talking to your loved ones will always give you positivity and result in a healthy mindset. Refrain from getting trapped in rumors, trust only on verified news. Rumors or fake news will lead to anxiety and panic, so try to stay positive.

If possible, go outside for a walk and refresh yourself. Prefer going to a garden or a park. If you are restricted from leaving the house, spend a good time on your terrace. You can start doing gardening on your terrace. Greenery always gives us a fresh feel and hence helps you in staying relaxed mentally.

If you have a pet at home, play with him as being around a playful dog or cat will increase your mental happiness.  In the time of quarantine, it is essential to stay active and keeping your mind healthy. Try to plan your time and figure out which tasks or activities you want to do. Avoid any kind of negativity and always believe in the ultimate good.
