Combating constipation by Rubina Ratnakar

Digestive problems are faced by many people these days. The diet and food habits of people have changed. We have fallen into the habit of eating fast food and decreased the intake of healthy food. Decrement in physical activity and movement has also led to problems like constipation. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar lists some eating habits for combating constipation and lead a healthy life.

Irregular bowel movements and less softening of stool lead to constipation. Eating inappropriate food and lack of physical activity are the major concerns. You should be eating the right food and not be sitting all day long.

Drinking a lot of liquids will help you in combating constipation. It is advised to drink 5 to 6 glasses of water every day. Not everyone is able to drink this amount of water. If you don’t have the habit of drinking water, you should switch to juices and shakes. Fluids will help in softening the stool and you can easily get out of constipation.

Constipation can be really annoying and irritating. You will feel that your whole body is getting upset and uncomfortable when the food is not getting digested and ejected properly. Doing physical exercise and taking a walk can help in boosting the process of digestion. Make a habit of going for a morning walk at least.

You can change the types of foods you eat if you have been facing constipation for a long time. Foods that are rich in fiber will help in getting rid of constipation easily. Vegetables, fruits, and dried fruits are rich sources of fiber. Whenever you have a meal, make sure you load your plate with vegetables to get an adequate amount of fiber. Your body requires about 35g of fiber every day.

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and carbonated drinks if you are facing this issue a lot. Changing your lifestyle will help you in getting a better condition.
