The Dukan diet is a diet consisting of high consumption of protein and a lower intake of carbohydrates. The diet was created by a French doctor named Dr. Pierre Dukan. He specialized in weight loss and created this diet for a patient who didn’t want to leave meat and was ready to leave everything else. This diet was proved to be really effective in losing weight and was a rapid method too.
You should start by knowing your true weight. After knowing how much you want to lose, then you can decide how to proceed with the diet.
The diet comprises four different phases namely the Attack phase, Cruise phase, Consolidation phase, and indefinite phase.
In the attack phase, you initiate by eating unlimited lean protein and consuming 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran each day.
The next is the cruise phase in which you eat the food on an alternate basis. You can eat lean protein one day and non-starchy vegetables one day.
The consolidation phase is like the maintenance phase. You can eat unlimited protein and vegetables and some carbs and fats. The last stage is the stabilization phase. In this phase, you can loosen the restriction and follow all the rules given in the consolidation phase.
The duration of each phase alters according to the weight you want to lose and your performance.
In the attack phase, you can eat lean beef, eggs, fish, and non-fat dairy products. Spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers, and mushrooms are some of the foods to eat in the cruise phase.
In the consolidation phase, you can eat fruits, bread, cheese, meat, and starches.
In the stabilization phase, you need to plan a mixture of all three processes.
