Workout and dieting is a hot trend these days. People are finding new ways to stay fit and lead healthy life. Intermittent fasting is one of the ways to follow a diet. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar explains everything about intermittent fasting.
Intermittent fasting refers to altering your eating schedule and making no changes to what you eat and drink. When you are asleep at night and haven’t eaten your breakfast, you are already fasting. The only thing you need to do in intermittent fasting is to extend that fast for some more hours.
The most famous form of fasting is eating your breakfast at noon and then eating your meal at night around 8 or 9 p.m. It is really easy to do. Some people find it difficult to go to the gym every day and leave their favorite food. Well, this is the perfect option for them.
The only thing you need to keep in mind is that during the time you are fasting you cannot eat anything at all. If you are on any kind of supplement, you can take it during the fasting hours. Just make sure they don’t have any calories.
Fasting has been practiced by humans for a long time. So, it is no harm for the person who is fasting. Many people do it to lose weight while some have the habit of eating at noon and at night.
Some other types of intermittent fasting are the 16/8 method, the eat-stop-eat method, and a 5:2 diet.
In the 16/8 method, you fast for 16 hours each day and eat between noon and 8 pm.
In the eat-stop-eat method, you skip dinner once or twice a week.
In the 5:2 diet method, you eat 500 to 600 calories only in a day.
